Carnival

The Rhenish custom par excellence: Carnival – not to be confused with Fasching or Fastnacht. The Rhenish carnival shines with its variety of costumes, joyful celebrations and singing. In Jülich, it is also associated with a certain “meeting culture”. Traditionally, there is a children’s triumvirate in Jülich that takes over the reigns during the fifth season. The Jülich Kengerzoch festival committee also organizes the parade on Tulip Sunday, in which around 1000 participants parade through the densely lined streets.
