The Jülich women’s choir has opted for a new rehearsal location: the weekly Friday rehearsals now take place at 6.30 pm at Propst-Bechte-Platz, in the extension to the Zitadelle grammar school; once a month, the choir has a Friday without a rehearsal.
The concept: without stress, also taking into account the professional or personal stress of each singer. After an intensive two-hour rehearsal, the choir can stay together for as long as they like with the rehearsal room still open. The rehearsals are supplemented by three full-day rehearsal days on Saturdays throughout the year; all rehearsal dates are set approximately one month before the start of the new semester.
Committed to the goal, The light music of our time, for example from pop music or musicals, but also traditional traditional music from the Romantic period onwards, choral movements from these two areas are rehearsed for an hour at a time.
The repertoire depends not only on upcoming performances but also on the wishes of the choir members, and in particular on the choir’s current level, whereby consideration is also given to new members. The focus is on acapella singing, with occasional accompaniment.
The sheet music of all choral movements are always available to the singers in an internal members’ area; there is also an audio file for many individual parts.
Except for urgent personal or professional reasons, the following is expected regular attendance in the rehearsals.
